Where to begin?… April 30, 2008

I have returned! Over the past few days I have been consumed by the upcoming new “The Dark Knight” trailer. I unfortunately did not make it down to Nathan Phillips Square. That was the rendezvous point that eventually lead them to the trailer at Paramount theatre. A shame I did not go along. I have been chatting on the superherohype boards about it consistently. A leaked version of the trailer came online that night and I finally got to see it at 3 am. (Talk about love and dedication!…hahahaha) It was absolutely amazing and incredible!!! It is hands down one of the best trailers I have ever seen in my life. It is officially coming online this Sunday. I will most probably dye my hair dark green at the beginning of June. Joker’s personality judging from the new trailer is breathtaking and seems like Ledger’s role will be groundbreaking. I adore the character of the Joker and slowly am adopting some of his mannerisms to a certain extent in my life excluding his love for destruction….hahahaha!!!!! Many who remember me from my past should forget because that young child from elementary school and middle school is dead. I am reborn and feel utterly pleased with who I have become! It has begun….
Countdown April 27, 2008

Today I walked up to Loomis and Tools to pick up a variety of art supplies I need for the work I have been doing recently for my storybook. In addition to the various supplies I got, I bought “How To Draw Heroes and Villains”. I watched the second James Bond film last night titled “From Russia With Love” released in 1963. It is even amazing to believe that at the time in the 1960s one of John F. Kennedy’s favourite books was “From Russia With Love” by Ian Fleming James Bond films are my second favourite kind of movies that I love to watch. I could watch Tim Burton films forever. Tonight though I shall watch the third Bond film in the series, “Goldfinger”. Through reading about Human Anatomy I have designed a clever story idea that I shall eventually build upon in the future. It is quite hard to describe entirely at the moment. I believe I would like it to be set in Egypt though. Despite how shy I have been in expressing myself in the past I have been grown to be very proud of who I am and what I am interested in. The power of my artistic skill is extraordinary and I lost myself in the web of ideas that flow through my mind. A pity many of the people I have met who are friends cannot fully connect with my passion or certain creative output. I should have noticed before, but I was frustrated and confused with who I wanted to be when I was younger. But now I finally know and understand my purpose, not to mention the specific aspects and genres I would like to dwell upon. I have known all my life what my reason for being on this earth is for. I was born to direct. I have decided I would like to dye my hair dark green as the release of “The Dark Knight” slowly approaches. I am eager to see what will be released on the viral marketing campaign website tomorrow linked to “The Dark Knight”. The countdown continues….

I have started to watch all the James Bond Ultimate Editions once again this year. It is mainly a tradition for me to watch them during the beginning of the summer. I watched Dr. No- an exceptional classic James Bond 007 film that started the most famous movie series in the world. 20 more days of Bond 007 lie ahead. On that note the next Bond film, “Quantam of Solace” is being released on November 7th 2008. I have made a list of supplies I am going to get at Loomis and Tools for my storybook illustrations among many preliminary sketches. My teeth still ache and are stiff, but are slowly getting better every day. The appearance of my main character, Mirabel is based upon someone I know who I have met in the recent years. I wonder if she will notice she was the inspiration for Mirabel in terms of her appearance when the teen dramedy graphic novel is completed. I called Max the Mutt Animation School to schedule a workshop that I shall take in late June. My mom returned home from Quebec City yesterday, however she felt incredibly sick and was very exhausted. Robin, Quinn and I ordered pizza for dinner. She feels much better today though. Robin had to get up early to work today at Canadian Tire. The TTC is on strike which is a major inconvenience I awoke to find a stunning “The Dark Knight” countdown clock to the next trailer that shall be released in two days!!!!! I am psyched and very excited to see it! The marketing campaigns of this film are like nothing I have ever seen before. It is an exhilarating unique way of marketing the film. It is being revealed in a very subtle style. I am watching the numbers of the countdown clock going down like a hawk. When it gets warmer I would like to film an Office Space tribute and capture each frame to the point at which the footage feels like a reflection of the actual movie scene that I love so dearly. Also, I would be interested in collaborating with Rebekah Miskin as long as we even ever have a chance to get together. This may sound odd but it is seriously getting ridiculous now simply due to our schedules…hahahaha!!! I have various other films that I have not posted on youtube, although I think everyone will be able to view them soon. Throughout my life I feel that I have been ignored by many friends in an affectionate manner. I noticed this highly in the years I was in grade seven and eight. I suppose it was how I expressed myself, but it soon lead me down a very dark and depressing path. I embraced those certain emotions and it molded my everlasting motto in life: NEVER FORGIVE NEVER FORGET!
Storybook Illustrations April 25, 2008

I have completed seven storybook preliminary illustrations. I have a clear vision of how I would like the various other ‘children’s book’ illustrations to be depicted. My main character is going to have superhero qualities to him in terms of appearance to contrast my secondary character who is a protagonist. Like Da Vinci before me I have decided to study human anatomy in order to get a great sense of body movements because I find that it would help me in developing bodily posture of the character’s poses in each illustration. I want to capture a moment of physical movement in each illustration. I have not decided whether I will post the poem that expresses the story and corresponds to the illustrations. I have been inspired though by Edgar Allan Poe, Tim Burton and Dr. Seuss. I will keep everyone updated though.

I woke up at 8 o’clock and had breakfast with my brothers and my dad. My teeth are still quite stiff and ache.I have an appointment with the surgeon to follow up with my wisdom teeth surgery from last week. The appointment was at 10 o’clock, although when I arrived it didn’t take long at all. I was extremely delighted to find a brand new “The Dark Knight” poster. It is incredible and they have never ceased to amaze me yet.

I wake up today at 6:40 am oddly enough, but go back to bed until 10:30. I awaken once again to take my medication. I turn on the televsion in my room and watch a TCM movie for a bit. My teeth still ache and are very stiff. I get dressed and pack my sling bag to go visit my grandmother and have lunch with her at noon. She has agreed to guide me in illustrating the illustrations for my ‘children’s picture book.’ I have sketched out five illustrations that correspond to five stanzas in the poem I have written for the film. When I visited the Animation School a week ago called Max the Mutt on Queen Street west it seemed very convincing and fascinating. I feel I will be able to express my stories very well I am writing at the moment when I attend the school hopefully in the future when I graduate from Ryerson. I think I am going to take a workshop at Max the Mutt from June 30th to July 11th. Seven days before The Dark Knight is released!!!!!
The workshop will prepare my artistic abilities for Max the Mutt’s Sequential Arts program that I hopefully will be accepted into. Max the Mutt is great because they gladly lead me in a direction I would like to dedicate my life to in the upcoming future when I graduate. The sequential Arts program is a three year program. Only time will tell. I have faith though and loads of passion.
The Con and Curse April 23, 2008

This morning I awoke at 10 o’clock. I turned on the television and watched “The Graduate” on AMC at one of its most popular excellent moments for fifteen minutes. My teeth still ache and are very stiff, but I am not fully recovered. I get dressed and take my novels with me down the hall. I place my books as well as my book full of my teen dramedy comic script down on the banister. I go to the washroom and head downstairs. I take my medication at ten thirty with some orange juice and hop onto my computer. I check the superherohype boards and watch “The Spirit” and “The Dark Knight” trailer. The San Diego Comic Con is slowly approaching that I hope to attend from the 23rd of July to the 27th. Although the website has not yet revealed what films will be featured on preview night. I am curious as to what films will be shown on preview night. I think Sin City 2, Watchmen and The Spirit will possibly be some of them. I have not read “The Spirit” comic series by Will Eisner, but I truly hope to because it seems very interesting and right up my alley in terms of genre and what I am fascinated in writing. I made some progress on Chapter four in the teen dramedy I have been writing and feel it is coming along well. My teen dramedy is about two teenagers who are just about to graduate from high school. Their names are Mirabel and Elias and have been friends for most of their life. They have grown up together, however they are not a couple. Both of them are rebellious and outcasts to society. Mirabel and Elias are complete opposites. Mirabel is very anti social and observant. Elias is passionate and confident in concern to his social life. Their parents encourage them greatly in their lives, but it does not have a major influence on either of them. Mirabel is visibly an outcast in how she acts on the outside and Elias is clearly an outcast on the inside in how he acts. Mirabel and Elias try to connect on a balanced level as they feel they are both drifting apart and face individuality in their lives. I hope many people will be able to relate to various aspects of this story. I have developed the story in a very detailed fashion. Ideas flow well and quite easily. I feel the accident upon my birth that caused my disability in life has given me a gift. I am convinced due to my disability, that it has heightened my artistic senses to an extremely high extent. Creative story ideas form in my mind very simply every day and I use it to my advantage in writing comics, graphic novels and screenplays for film. It is my gift…my curse. It is not only a curse or a gift, but a power…
Young Frankenstein Review April 22, 2008

“Young Frankenstein” directed by Mel Brooks is arguably his best movie ever made. It was released in 1974. Mel Brooks is renown for his outrageous comedy films. He never ceases to amaze me. Young Frankenstein is a hilarious horror spoof. It still makes many people laugh. This film is a homage to James Whale’s classic which was shot in the same location with the same props. This satire of old monster movie classics is without a doubt well paced and well acted by Gene Wilder (who also co wrote the story and screenplay in addition to Brooks). It is beautifully crafted and prides itself greatly on the film production values. Both the crazed hilarious cast contrast the somber serious mood of the environment and motions of the time set. Laughter stems from the unbelievable bizarre physical comedy, although it never destroys the pure illusion of the Universal monster movie style that is depicted on the screen. This is a very memorable comedy horror film in my mind. It should not be missed in anyone’s lifetime by all means.

I wake up early at nine fifteen in the morning and fall back asleep until eleven in the morning. I take my early medication when I awaken once again with fresh iced tea. My teeth do not ache as much and are much better. I can only anticipate it will be a few days before they are entirely healed. I turn on my television and watch MADtv, however I daze out when an awful James Lipton sketch begins featuring Paul Vogt, who I find to be such a terrible actor. Compared to Will Ferrell playing Lipton on SNL, Paul Vogt is just utter shit. After all SNL was way better than MADtv in the beginning and I even find SNL to be much more entertaining than MADtv even now. MADtv is extremely lame now despite the fact I have an enormous MAD magazine collection that I will never throw away. My mom and dad use to collect MAD mags when they were younger. I inherited the incredible collection. I once made a film called a “A MAD TRIBUTE” in grade eleven at DCTI for my teacher, Mr. Bryan. The film may be found on youtube now. I get out of bed and get dressed at 11:30. I head down the hall and go the washroom. I take both “Diamonds are Forever” and Jurassic Park” downstairs with me and prepare for the beautiful day. My mom is away on a school trip in Quebec City and my dad is coming over for the week until Friday with myself amy brothers. My father, Jimmy owns a business by the name of Spirit Event Productions. I head onto my computer to watch “The Dark Knight” trailer and check the superherohype news. I have Cheerios for breakfast while I watch the South Park episode titled “Major Boobage”. I hope to work on my illustrations for my ‘children’s book’. My ‘children’s book’ is currently based upon my long term film project I have been working on for a while now. It has been a year since I have developed it. I have only until recently decided to make it a picture book as well as a film. The film will be claymation and revolves around only two characters. The story is about a mad surgeon who tortures his victim in hopes of creating an artificial being. The mad surgeon is a cannibal and is torn between tearing his victim apart completely and designing a living individual. It is set in a torture chamber. I am very excited to complete this. It is my tradition to watch all twenty one James Bond films every year and I shall begin to watch them soon yet I maintain a deep focus on my side projects and that is online the tip of the iceberg before they become reality…
Groundhog Day April 22, 2008

I wake up to find my teeth still ache from having all FOUR wisdom teeth removed from over the past week! It is slowly getting better. Although I don’t even remember falling asleep when I was under the general aesthetic before they began the surgery. I was very groggy and dizzy after for a while. On the second day after the surgery I puked profusely and almost had a major seizure but I was able to stop it thankfully. Lately my teeth have been very stiff but I am progressively recovering well. I wake up at ten o’clock. I turn on my television in my room and gradually awaken my senses. I space out to the mind numbing comedy of “This Hour Has 22 Minutes”. I take my medication at ten thirty. I hear silent noises and wonder if it is my eight year old brother, Felix. He returned home late with my mom last night and my mom warned me she may allow him to sleep in this morning. I finally turn off the television, get out of bed and walk down the hall to the edge of the stairs. I find a note for Felix from my mother on the banister. Felix comes out of his room and says good morning. He heads downstairs and I go to the washroom. I walk back to my room to get dressed. I head down to the basement and turn on my new imac which unfortunately has a few dead pixels that I hope to get replaced soon. It doesn’t bother me too much. They are basically unnoticeable. Felix joins me to read about the exciting “The Dark Knight” news on the computer- a new trailer description that is apparently going to premiere in two weeks! I chat on the superherohype boards about the issue and watch “The Dark Knight” trailer constantly as Felix heads back upstairs to go play on the family computer. My mother, Marietta who is a french teacher arrives home around 11:30 am. She makes Macaronni for Felix and I for a late breakfast. Felix goes back to school with mom at 12:30. I watch an episode of “Freaks and Geeks” with my macaronni when Felix and my mom leave for the afternoon. After the episode I go up to my room and collect my sketchbook full of illustrations for my ‘children’s book’, “Diamonds are Forever’ by Ian Fleming, and ”Jurassic Park” by Michael Crichton. I spend the afternoon reading and working on my illustrations outside on the porch in the sun. At 3:30 I come inside to have some lunch composed of Ginger Ale, cheese, smoked salmon and a banana while watching a Seinfeld rerun on TVTropolis. I don’t laugh at it much though because I have seen all the episodes so many times. I head back downstairs to post on the superherohype boards in regard to the upcoming “The Dark Knight” trailer. My middle brother, Robin arrives home at 4 pm from school with his friend, Quinn. Quinn is basically a brother to me and I treat him as such without a doubt. Felix and my mom get home from school around 5 pm. Robin’s friends , Katie Kohut and Sara Scanlon stops by the house briefly. However my mom and Felix head out to Felix’s Cubs meeting and get supplies not long after at 6:30 and return at 7:30. I hang out downstairs with Robin and Quinn. They play XBOX 360 and I listen to a few tunes and speak to a few of my friends on msn. I turn off my computer and have dinner at 8:45 while I watch another episode of “Freaks and Geeks”. Quinn leaves at 8:50 for his house. Later after I take my medication at ten thirty I watch Mel Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein” and fall asleep watching an old film on TCM.
