The Film Fest approaches….

I attended the Ryerson training session yesterday evening. Film and Sound Editing are only in class labs mainly and do not seem that difficult from what I have heard. In the Winter term of 2009 I shall be taking Film Technology 2. The comedic elements of my teen dramedy graphic novel has become very similar to that of Knocked Up, Superbad, and Pineapple Express. The comedic humour writers that I have been influenced by most are Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow. They never seem to amaze me yet all there films have definite heart and are lovely in a distinct crude style. I have created the main love triangle in the graphic novel by chapter six, halfway through the graphic novel and thus begins the major conflict. I have been planning my 21st birthday party with Ryan, Robin and Geoff.We are going to transform my house into an Animal House!!!…HAHA! JOKES! It will most likely be on the weekend of October 4th. Its not set in stone though…it shall quite soon.

Summer Break is Over

School begins in only a few weeks for me now. The art course at Max the Mutt was extremely interesting and very helpful in developing my drawing skills. This autumn I am taking Film and Sound Editing at Ryerson. I am planning to take another workshop at Max the Mutt beginning in October called Comic Book Boot Camp. However I did not go to the SDCC after all this summer. I have volunteered for the film festival in Toronto for a second time. I am hoping to meet Dakota Fanning at the Film Festival if I can. The Toronto Film Fest begins on September 4th and I have nine shifts throughout the time that the film fest lasts. I mostly will be working at the Ryerson theatre. I am halfway through my next major graphic novel thankfully as well! Out of all the films I have seen this summer I would have to say The Dark Knight is truly my favourite and the best through my eyes. I have seen The Dark Knight six times in theatres including once in IMAX. I find it to be an absolute masterpiece and it definitely lived up to the incredible hype. Heath Ledger honestly deserves an Oscar for his performance as the Joker. His performance was enthralling. And I thought SM3 was amazing!!!! That is a joke! The Dark Knight is one of the greatest action films ever made and without a doubt the best comic book movie ever made. Question is what happens next? October is slowly approaching and on that note so is my birthday. I hope to have a fabulous party to celebrate my 21st. It shall be in early October. I am designing a Joker TDK costume for Halloween and transforming my house into little vignette scenes from The Dark Knight. In Nolan we trusted and he brought us a dazzling film. I applaud him for that.

A Death in the Family

My grandfather passed away yesterday as he was packing up leaving from Venice back to Montreal. My mom was extremely shocked when she heard that her father passed away yesterday morning. She was supposed to visit him in Montreal this weekend when he returned from Italy. Our of utter shock she screamed. My grandmother, my aunt, my uncle and her boyfriend, Roche came over to comfort her. My aunt, uncle and my mother bought their plane tickets for my grandfather named John Fox is being cremated in Italy. They are placing his ashes in an urn with three drawn pictures by Robin, Felix and I on a small island overlooking Venice. John Fox was an extremely extraordinary brilliant artist. When I visited him we both had deep conversations about art. John Fox’s brother fought and passed away in World War II. My mom later yesterday told me he died from a massive heartattack. He was packing and spoke to Sandra (his wife he remarried) and told her “I am getting to old for this.” He went to go sit on the steps outside for a few moments and Sandra found him keeled over leaning down not moving. It has been devasting for everyone. The last time I saw him was last year. On the lighter side of life I have completed chapter four of my teen dramedy and I am currently on chapter five now. I have drawn up a new outline for a graphic novel that is very reminiscent of “The Elephant Man”.- aka John Merrick, the most courageos man who ever lived on this earth. My friend Meghan Partch never called to get together last week , however I did call her, but she didn’t answer. No matter I feel I need to be alone with my artistic thoughts. That is what will give me power. I have started my short film live action movie script and shall continue to make progress. I know I must be alone right now and where I belong.

Old friends never die hard…

Over the past weekend I got together and had coffee with Rebekah Miskin and we discussed the live action film idea I have in mind to direct. It was very enjoyable and delightful to speak to her after eight years…since I was in elementary school. It seems we share a load of interests and have much to learn in terms of film from each other. I even spoke to Meghan Partch today and I also hope to chillax and catch up after all these years with her as well. I am happy and excited about yet. Although I have a papercut of paranoia in the back of my brain that may I have possibly made a weird or oddly foolish impression when I spoke to her on the phone this afternoon. I shall not allow it to bother me though. Gladly she mentioned she would speak to me next week. Let’s hope she does…

We are just pawns, there are bigger things.

I have taken charge in the direction my teen dramedy is heading toward. I have made progress in chapter four and the link between what my characters talk about in chapter four allowing the events in chapter five to make complete sense. I have a clear idea of how I would like chapter five to begin and how the pace shall follow. I am nearly finished chapter four and have one last scene to write. The Mcneill Bros returned from their two month trip oddly and gladly enough very early. I chillaxed with them yesterday and watched a few films with them. I was surprised they did not completely enjoy Ghost World, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Later this week we are going to watch one of the greatest gangster action films ever made: SCARFACE!

Montreal and Back

I travelled to Montreal with my father and his friend Glen last week. Glen Murphy is a lighting designer who works with my dad. I woke up early at 5 am so we could check into the hotel and be at work by noon. It went well, but I slept most of the way there. My father is a production manager for the Montreal Autoshow. For the first day I helped them on this production on Monday when we arrived. We went back to the hotel and ordered room service and I spoke to Robin back in Toronto on msn. The next two days I wandered in the city along Sherbroke among other streets. On Tuesday my dad and Glen went out to Schwartz’s for a smoked meat dinner. We left early in the afternoon on Wednesday We were supposed to stay until Friday, but I had a neurology appointment on Friday at noon. Glen, my dad and I travelled to my dad’s cottage for one night. We watched the hockey game that night and ate hamburgers and chicken wings for dinner that I made. The next morning we left for Toronto.

I really feel outraged and frustrated in how I am exactly supposed to express myself to others in my life. I rather not be extremely conservative and told how people think I should act. I have been treated like an outcast for most of my life and I have also in fact been responsible for that in addition to how my friends have responded to me. I am not complaining, I just merely accept that is the truth. I don’t want to destroy the picture I have painted for myself through my life and who I may be defined as and I want it not to be forgotten. I do not care what people think of me nor what they think of the decisions I make. To those past old friends of mine, do not expect to be greeted by the joyous delighted Nathaniel Fox-Pappas you once knew from elementary school. For christ sake I put on a bloody happy face for all of you god damn suckers and bottled the angry rage up inside. Now there is nothing but hatred. To put it short- fuck life. The only thing I truly have to live for is my family and my film passion. How is that “personal” for you?

Enjoyable Bondage

Recently a new idea has occurred to me over the past few days that I shall develop into a live action short film. It shall be character driven rather than plot driven. I have already begun to write down my ideas in regard to this short film. I am intertwining both horror and drama together in my sick and twisted notion. The short film I plan to direct was inspired by an early film directed and oddly destroyed by mistake by Tarantino. I received a vast majority of film based books from my dad’s girlfriend, Robin Turnbull. I have found them all very fascinating. My brother, Robin’s birthday is only in six days. I have something in mind that I would like to get him. My wisdom teeth no longer hurt anymore. I will be watching the 13th Bond film tonight titled “Octopussy”. I an doing well in learning how to stylistically design figures in terms of my drawing. I have written much more of my teen dramedy and I am half way through Chapter four. It is coming along well, but I am still struggling with what exactly some of the casual dialogue should be based upon.I know I will overcome it.

I have seen Iron Man three times now as well as The Dark Knight trailer and they have never failed to amaze me! I watched the Bond film titled “Live and Let Die” from 1973 last night. I started to read Breakfast at Tiffany’s yesterday and I am half way through it. I am going to finish the rest of it today. The Mcneill Bros are leaving on Thursday for two months until the end of July. I am getting botox injections once again in June. I find it very frustrating that my old friends do not have the urge to contact me, however I understand they never last. If I am to be treated with no attention in my life from them they should not expect anything from me. Sometimes I feel I was not meant for the world and the society we live in today. It might possibly be difficult to comprehend from a very conservative social individual unlike a complete outcast like me who feels I cannot be loved aside from my dear family. Regards to Andrea Sonya for allowing me to learn that. Even the one girl I have loved with all my heart since Kindergarten I cannot speak to because I have not had the chance to at all. She will never respond to me and I wish I had told her a long time ago what I would like to just express to her. Despite my rage, I shall make a simple and drastic change to my visual appearance to the point at which people who have known me will barely recognise me at all in this Ghost world. If anyone actually reads my personal blog look for my symbol, (laugh if you will) but I am dead serious!

I woke up late today at twelve thirty, but I took my medication at eleven fifteen in the morning. Craig Franklin who I took Technical Theatre in my first year of Ryerson University called me in regard to seeing Iron Man tonight. Craig is one of my good friends now. Sunday cannot come any sooner….hahahahaha. I wonder whether the new “The Dark Knight” is attached with the release of Iron Man. My friend Malcolm Mcneill is coming along as well to the film. We are all hyped to see it. It has gotten great reviews unlike The Fantastic Four. I shall see tonight. It is best not to have any expectations for “The Dark Knight” in the case such as my friend from Ryerson, Markie Schofield because it makes the experience of seeing it that much more exciting and amazing for the audience member.My grandmother has not yet made a woodcut of the “teaser poster” for my next graphic novel. I am working on a second drawing to shift people’s attention even more now to this project. I am continually still working on the comic script. I will update everyone further has I make more progress.
